Bad Locations for A House

Locations matter a lot to buyers and is a fact that many sellerstend to overlook. Buyers won’t even bother to look at a home situated in a bad location and will gravitate towards less desirable homes in better locations. Some neighborhoods are perceived by people to be “bad areas”, even though it might be located across the street from a more desirable area. Owning a home near any of these locations will often lower the value of your property by tens of thousands of dollars:

- Railroad tracks
- Main roads with ltos of traffic
- Industrial and commercial properties
- Apartment buildings
- Utility structures like waste or nuclear power plants
- Cemeteries
- Government housing
- Noise pollution from nearby freeways
