People have begun to reap the benefits of the trillion dollar bailout with a few thousand dollars going into the pockets of individuals in the forms of tax discounts and checks for spending on whatever they see fit. One problem though, the money isn’t going to where its supposed to go, ending up in other more trivial use still leaving people high and dry. One more problem, people might think the bailout checks they are getting are for free, yet they fail to realize that as early as next year, they may have to start paying up for them as they go to settle their taxes.
Taxes are some of the discounts given to homeowners who face foreclosure among the several lifelines thrown out by the government to help the ailing economy. The cash comes from the federal reserve’s coffers and they have to be replenished through taxes to allow the country to maintain their financial might. Should the budget deficit grow without any hopes of filling it back up, it can prevent the government from reacting the way it did, with no source of income in sight.
